Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a part time Scholarships Adviser for 12 months to backfill an internal secondment. This role is responsible for administering a small portfolio of scholarships and providing support to the delivery of the Summer Research Scholarships programme.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Advising staff and students on scholarship opportunities and application processes.
  • Managing a portfolio of scholarships including the development of regulations, promotion, application, shortlisting and awarding.
  • Processing payments for successful scholarship recipients.

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative and has strong attention to detail. You will need effective time management and forward planning to balance meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of service to both students, staff and external stakeholders.

Key Requirements: 

  • Ability to work to a high standard of accuracy, with an appreciation of the importance of data integrity.
  • Previous experience of a strong client centric approach to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • A good attitude – we’ll teach you the rest.
