To promote excellence in the fields of engineering, science, technology or business management for Pakistani Community in New Zealand

This Bursary established in 2019 by Pakistan Association of New Zealand, an organisation that has been operating since 1989 under a guiding principle to serve Pakistani community in New Zealand and promote cultural and educational activities.
Level of Study Master's or Doctorate Value and Tenure
•Value of $1,000 each.
•Bursary each year will be awarded to a student within an engineering, science, technology or business management degree.
•The Bursary will be paid in May once the conditions of the bursary have been satisfactorily met.
•The Bursary is tenable for one year only.

Typical Number on Offer

Applicants must be:
- A full time or part time student.
- Undertaking their Master's, either taught or research, or Doctorate degree at Massey University in the year that they apply.
- Undertaking study in the field of engineering, science, technology or management.
Of Pakistani ethnic background.
- Have a achieved a B- average in each of the previous years' study if a currently enrolled Massey University student. If new to Massey, have achieved a B- average for their qualifying degree.
- A New Zealand citizen, New Zealand permanent resident, or a Pakistani International student with a valid student visa.
- Studying on any campus of Massey University.

Selection Criteria
The applicant's supporting statement which includes a short essay outlining why they are undertaking their present degree programme. The statement must also provide information about their previous experience (if any) of working the field of study, community involvement, and their future career plans.

Selection Panel
Selection of the Bursary recipients shall be made by members of the Pakistan Association of New Zealand in consultation with the Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee, College of Sciences.

Conditions of the Bursary Award
Recipients must formally agree to the condition that they will work with Pakistan Association New Zealand in the year they receive the Bursary and provide 120 hours of voluntary work per year.
The Bursary shall be offered annually but will not be awarded if no suitable candidates apply.
•Recipients may hold the Bursary more than once but must reapply on each occasion.
•In recommending the award of a bursary the selection committee may take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicant with a view to achieving a reasonable distribution of available monies among qualifying candidates.
