Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Manager, Scholarships and Doctoral Admissions. This permanent fulltime position provides an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of the University’s Scholarship and Doctoral Admissions programme and support the Scholarships and Doctoral recruitment strategies. You will be a key part of the management team within the Office of the Vice-Provost (Research). You will lead a small but busy administration team ensuring the provision of timely, accurate and complete information is delivered for staff and students across the wider University community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, effective, efficient and timely management of all aspects of the scholarship and awards programme for the University.
  • Effective use of the University’s scholarship investment and timely offering of scholarships with high levels of acceptance.
  • Doctoral admissions processes are efficient and effective and enhance the doctoral student journey.
  • Relationships with all stakeholders are productive, effective and contribute to the goals of the Office of the Vice Provost (Research).
  • Effective financial management of budgets and timely submission of reports.
  • Staff polices and legal requirements met, and resources allocated appropriately.

We are seeking a person with strong relationship management skills, a focus on quality service delivery and capable of leading and maintaining a highly effective team.

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate a strong financial skillset and experience in leading high producing teams. You will have a sensible, can-do attitude with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Understanding of the university environment and the perspectives of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification.
