John Hodgson Pastoral Science Scholarship

This scholarship is supported by funds accumulated under the Trade for Training Scheme established by Associate Professor Alex Chu between 1988 and 1996. It is named after Professor John Hodgson, former Head of the Agronomy Department at Massey University, in recognition of his leadership of, and contribution to, numerous pastoral projects conducted in China managed by Dr Chu. These projects included a United Nations Development Programme project in Guizhou.

These are postgraduate scholarships. You will want to or be undertaking research in the field of or related to pastoral science.


Eligibility criteria

You must be studying in a specific subject area.


Application checklist

Include the following with your application:

  • your academic transcripts for any tertiary study completed outside of Massey University
  • a statement on how receiving this scholarship would be of benefit to you and your study, and how you believe you meet the intentions of this award. You should comment on the relevance of your study to pastoral science

When choosing our recipients, we will consider your academic achievements and other scholarships or bursaries you hold. This scholarship may not be granted each and every year.
