John Ayers Summer Scholarship

This scholarship is offered by the School of Fundamental Sciences and is funded by royalties generated from Associate Professor Ayers’ resin research.


Who we're looking for

We're looking for a student who wants to undertake research over summer under the supervision of a staff member from the School of Fundamental Sciences.


What you'll be studying

This is an undergraduate or postgraduate scholarship. You will be studying a bachelor's degree or postgraduate degree with a focus on one of the following:

  • Biochemistry
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science/Information Technology
  • Genetics
  • Mathematics
  • Microbiology
  • Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry
  • Physics
  • Plant Sciences
  • Statistics.

If you are an undergraduate student, you will have completed your 200-level courses for your major by the end of the current year.


Eligibility criteria

You must:

  • be studying in specific subject areas
  • wish to undertake research with a supervisor in the School of Fundamental Sciences
  • be willing to submit a report to your research supervisor at the end of your scholarship.

  • a statement outlining your achievements to date and your future intentions
  • a brief (two page) CV
