The Award was established in 2014 and is funded by Natalie Chung in memory of her partner, Jacob Marx. Jacob was an intelligent, compassionate and spirited person with a passion and thirst for knowledge. Jacob thoroughly enjoyed his years at the University of Auckland and had hoped to pursue postgraduate study in History in the years to come. It is with this in mind that this Award is being funded to support a postgraduate student in History in the writing of their thesis.
