Job description

Broader Mind Course is part of Broader Mind for Students program at VU University Amsterdam. It is a VU-wide program aimed at the personal, social and academic development of bachelor students. In this position you support the project manager and the course coordinator of Broader Mind Course. We are looking for an independent, flexible and communicative bachelor or master student. Given the work, we prefer a student who is at the end of his/her studies.

Your duties

  • organizing and supporting meetings and workshops such as sending invitations, organizing rooms and catering
  • maintaining the (student) administration
  • uploading course materials in Canvas and keeping Canvas pages up-to-date
  • organizing and providing promotional materials and events
  • taking care of communication towards students and tutors (‘guides’)
  • supporting Broader Mind's communication such as writing web texts and emails
  • assisting the development teams that develop and implement course content

Requirements
  • good oral and written communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch
  • flexible availability (also in the evenings during workshops, meetups and get-togethers)
  • knowledge of Canvas (and perhaps some other digital learning environments)
  • masters Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • able to work independently and in a flexible team
  • ability to plan, coordinate and organize well
  • solution and result oriented and a proactive work attitude
  • diligent and stress resistant

What are we offering?

A challenging position at a socially involved organization. Depending on education and experience on a full-time basis, the salary is a minimum of € 2,110 and a maximum of € 2,462 gross per month. The position is classified according to UFO profile Student Assistant and is open for 0.4 FTE.

The employment contract is initially entered into for a period of 4 months. Extension of the employment contract is possible.
