PostDoc position in Novel Bio-based rheology modifiers for coating technology

Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: Temporary
Deadline: 02 Dec 2021

We seek a talented and ambitious post-doctoral researcher for a challenging research project on the border between supramolecular chemistry, soft materials and chemical product technology. The project aims at the development of new rheology modifier technology based on biofeedstock for application in hi-tech coatings. The postdoc position is concerned with the design and synthesis of new self-assembling molecules, their structural and rheological characterization as supramolecular soft materials, and their formulation as rheology modifiers for coatings.

The position is part of a collaborative project between the group of prof. Dr. Jan van Esch at TU Delft and a global industrial company and one of the market leaders in additives for coating technology. The project will be performed in the Advanced Soft Matter section at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Delft University of Technology. Close collaboration and research visits (up to 3 months) at the lab of the industrial partner are an essential part of the project. At TU Delft, the postdoc will be part of a larger team of up to 10 PhDs and postdocs working on related topics.
