Offer Description
Image sensors have been used widely in our daily life. In this project, we will develop a low-power image sensor for IoT applications. Two key aspects are critical for this application: low power and local data processing. While the first requirement is very straightforward, the second requirement can be easily more demanding since the image data must be sent out wirelessly in most IoT systems over long distances. To filter out the useful data locally in a smart way, such that the IoT node doesn’t need to spend a lot of power to transmit the data can save significant power. Eventually, the imaging system will be integrated with an energy harvester developed in a parallel project and a Lora module developed from our industrial partner for remote environment monitoring.
Requirements
Specific Requirements
The candidate should have very good analog integrated circuit design background.
Basic knowledge of data processing and its digital implementation is highly appreciated
The candidate should be highly self-motivated.
The candidate should be a team player.
The candidate needs to have good experience with IC design software Cadence Spectre. Tapeout experience is highly appreciated, although not a must.
If you feel this role would be a perfect match, but you cannot yet tick all the boxes, we’d still really like to get to know you, as you can learn and grow on the job!
Additional information

- English: you should be able to communicate well in English (written and oral). Provide TOEFL/IELTS scores if available.
- Originality: your MSc thesis or later work (publications) should reflect some original ideas. Critical and independent thinking is very important.
- Team player: you should be able to work well in a team of other project members.
Your resume should contain contact information of prior advisors/supervisors who can provide feedback.
*competitive applications without an MSc might be considered upon extra review
