The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences is one of the leading faculties in Europe providing research and academic teaching in cultural anthropology, educational sciences, interdisciplinary social science, pedagogical sciences, psychology, and sociology. More than 5,600 students are enrolled in a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences has some 850 faculty and staff members, all providing their individual contribution to the training and education of young talent and to the research into and finding solutions for scientific and societal issues.

The mission of the faculty is to provide academic education, to conduct innovative research and to offer scientific and societal services in the fields of psychology and educational sciences. Some 80 professors, 400 researchers, some 80 support staff, and approximately 180 volunteers realize this mission with great commitment and enthusiasm.

Joint PhD

Each of Utrecht University and KU Leuven will award a single Diploma evidencing the conferral of the Jointly awarded Doctoral Degree of both Institutions. The Diploma’s will specify that the degree has been awarded in the framework of a Joint Doctorate Program.

The supervising team will consist of Prof. dr. I. Engelhard and Prof. dr. D. Hermans as promotores. The daily supervision (co-promotores) will be given by dr. K. Meyerbröker and dr. S. Scheveneels.

The candidate will join the Dutch-Flemish Postgraduate School ‘Experimental Psychopathology ’, which will provide additional training and facilitate networking and collaboration with other researchers in the field of Experimental Psychopathology.
