Job description
The School of Business and Economics (SBE) of Maastricht University offers a 4-year PhD positions for students with a (Research) Master degree or equivalent.

Which conditions do we need to create for learners in higher education to develop self-regulated learning skills, and support this using (learning) technology in a way that is effective (i.e., enhanced deep learning and retention of learning) and efficient (i.e., manageable workload for both faculty and students)? If this question intrigues you, and you recognize yourself in the requirements provided below, you might become our new colleague! Self-regulated learning (SRL) is a crucial element contributing to the success of learners and can be defined as a deliberate and cyclical process in which cognitive and metacognitive skills are applied to plan, monitor and reflect on a specific task or context, to achieve intrinsic or extrinsic goals. Effective and efficient implementation depends on a variety of contextual factors, including the use of technology in support of SRL development.
The results of your project are highly relevant in the field of education, as it builds on knowledge regarding instructional design for SRL in PBL and academic coaching as socio-constructivist learning environments and expands this with the use of (learning) technology to create an effective and efficient learning context.
