Job description

We will study smart charging strategies of electric vehicles (EV) via optimization algorithms and game theoretical models. Specifically, we wish to model and formulate the trade-offs between the battery technical needs and the economic user preferences in terms of use and charging. Thus, we will formulate a dynamic decision problem with two objectives, one towards the optimal operation of the battery hardware and the second towards the EV user preferences. The formulation decision problem should be solved via optimization algorithms and tools from computational game theory. The envisioned outcome is the computation of the optimal trade-off between the health of the EV battery and the preferences of the EV user, while keeping into account the operational limits imposed by the charging infrastructure.
