PhD position AR/VR interactive techniques for education

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Deadline: 21 May 2022

During the last years, distance learning has become ubiquitous. Nevertheless, mixed-reality in an educational scenario is still limited and under-explored due to many standing challenges, especially regarding interactivity.

This project is in collaboration with other universities and industry partners around Europe. It aims to shed light on the current issues and propose novel and exciting mixed-reality solutions for education.

Within the project's scope, we aim at developing novel interaction, navigation and visualization methods for mixed reality to allow for effective visual communication and improve the educational experience. A  more specific goal, for example, is to facilitate demonstrations and collaborative tasks. Some of the possible research directions within Computer Graphics and Visualization are non-photorealistic rendering and illustration techniques for AR/VR, gaze guidance, and camera and location management to enhance physical awareness.

The PhD candidate will be part of the exciting Computer Graphics and Visualization Group ([https://graphics.tudelft.nl/](https://graphics.tudelft.nl/)) and will have the possibility to collaborate in other related projects, such as mixed-reality in the medical and sports domains, as well as other Computer Graphics topics of interest.
