HIMS performs internationally recognized chemistry research, curiosity driven as well as application driven. This is done in close cooperation with chemical, flavour & food, medical and high-tech industries. Research is organised into four themes: Sustainable Chemistry , Analytical Chemistry , Computational Chemistry and Molecular Photonics .
The Fernández-Ibáñez group is currently offering a PhD position on an exciting research programme, which was funded by the NWO (M1 grant) 'Reversing the conventional site-selectivity in C-H activation processes'.
The Synthetic Organic Chemistry group is part of the Sustainable Chemistry theme, which is a Research Priority Area (RPA) of the University of Amsterdam. The RPAs represent the excellence of UvA in terms of research and worldwide recognition.
What are you going to do?
You are expected to do original and fundamental research on the field of Pd-catalyzed C-H functionalization.
- Develop new sustainable methodologies for the synthesis of existing as well as new molecules;
- Understanding the reaction mechanism of Pd-catalyzed C-H functionalzaition processes;
- Present your results in seminars, international workshops and conferences;
- Write articles for peer-reviewed scientific journals;
