PhD: Characterizing bone marrow-dependent drug resistance mechanisms in multiple myeloma
We are looking for an ambitious PhD student for our project on the characterization of bone marrow-dependent signals that cause drug resistance in the hematologic...

Job description
Multiple myeloma is a cancer that resides in the bone marrow and generally has a poor prognosis due to the development of drug resistance. The bone marrow microenvironment contributes to drug resistance by providing growth and survival factors that drive oncogenic signaling.
A better understanding of the interactions between multiple myeloma cells and the bone marrow microenvironment will provide new opportunities to improve therapy and prevent drug resistance.
About your role
In this project we will use functional genetic screens, innovative reporter assays and preclinical models to investigate the contribution of bone marrow-derived cues to oncogenic signaling and drug resistance in multiple myeloma cells.
We aim to unravel abnormal growth factor signaling in multiple myeloma to provide novel therapeutic targets and combination therapies.
