CARIM (Dept. of Physiology), in collaboration with the Department of Data Science and Knowledge engineering, is looking for a PhD student for a project on signal analysis and computer modelling of atrial fibrillation.
Job description

The successful candidate will develop an adaptive multi-scale 3D computer model of atrial fibrillation. The model will be built starting from an already existing 3D computer model developed in collaboration with the University of Lugano. This patient-specific model will allow to simulate individual pathophysiological mechanisms and to predict antiarrhythmic treatment outcome, thereby improving personalized non-invasive diagnosis of atrial fibrillation. The project is part of the European Innovative Training Network ‘Personalize AF’ in which top scientists from 6 European countries will collaborate.
