PhD candidate ‘Circulating tumour DNA’

Updated: over 2 years ago
Deadline: tomorrow

Radboudumc

The Department of

Medical Oncology

is part of the Radboudumc Center for Oncology. We place emphasis on working in multidisciplinary teams to improve both patient care as well as research. The nursing department, day care and outpatient clinic are all integrated to guarantee a well streamlined process in the treatment for our patients. There is extra attention for adolescence and young adults (AYA) with cancer, but also for the elderly cancer patients.

Embedded in our academic patient care are early stage clinical (medicinal) trials, and research regarding pharmacology, pathology, genetics and radiology. There is a close relation with the Department of Human Genetics. This scientific collaboration is aimed to gain a more thorough understanding of cancer biology, and on individualizing cancer treatment through molecular characterization of tumour tissue and liquid biopsies. An important activity of the department is the translation of basic research into clinical application.

At this moment there are 14 staff members working within the Medical Oncology department (partly part-time connected at our department). There is a team of enthusiastic and involved clinical fellows, PhD students, medical researchers and students that contribute to an outstanding educational and scientific climate.

The Radboudumc aims to excel in all academic tasks and in giving the patient an important voice in the treatment team. To act together within networks and partnerships are topical issues of the Radboudumc subjects for giving shape to an optimal organization of sustainable oncology care.
