Deadline: 06 Feb 2022

Choosing a degree can be both life changing and difficult. In today’s information culture, students are bombarded with facts, figures, rankings and other narratives. The sky is the literal limit: worldwide searches for the perfect programme are not uncommon. How can our master’s programmes achieve and maintain visibility in the midst of this? How can we best show prospective students the quality of our programmes? And, importantly, how do we ensure that the programme and the student are indeed a good match? As master student recruiter, you will lay out an evidence-based strategy to help our faculty answer these questions.

Master’s programmes at the Faculty of Science and Engineering
We are the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE), the youngest of six faculties at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Our faculty is home to several outstanding departments and institutions covering education and research in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as well as the liberal arts and sciences. FSE is also the home base faculty for the University Campus in the city of Venlo.

As student recruiter, you will focus on two master’s programmes at the Venlo campus: 1) Health Food Innovation Management (HFIM), 2) Global Supply Chain Management and Change e (GSCMaC). At the moment, the aforementioned programmes attract an international group of students and have approximately 130 students enrolled.

Your responsibilities
As master student recruiter, you are responsible for hands on student recruitment, organizing open day’s on campus and facilitating all recruitment related activities on the campus.
You will be embedded in campus Venlo’s central marketing & communications team, where you will work alongside (and coordinate the efforts of) your bachelor recruitment colleague to implement and execute your plans. You realize that your responsibility does not end with the admission procedure, but that you are working to help students make an honest and informed decision about their future.

Your tasks vary on a day-to-day basis, and include the following:

  • On-/offline studentrecruitment for both master’s programmes
  • Organizing and hosting student recruitment events in Venlo and Maastricht like the masters open day, campus open day, GSCMaC/HFIM experience and graduations.
  • Coordination of the master’s student ambassador teams (HFIM, GSCMC)
  • Actively managing the master’s Social Media (with student ambassadors)
  • Keeping programme content up to date
  • Communicating with prospective students and providing them with programme and venue related information.
