The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) invites applications from PhD candidates in the general area of signal processing for wireless communications. SnT is carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners.

Your Role

The successful candidate will join a strong and motivated research team led by Prof. Jacques Klein and Prof. Tegawendé F. Bissyandé in order to carry out research in order to pursue a PhD on the following topic:

  • Software Security and SOC automation

The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Carrying out research in the predefined areas
  • Disseminating results through scientific publications
  • Participating in proposal drafting
  • Collaborating with industrial partners, and in particular with the Luxembourg Army

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an exciting environment with top researchers in software security and experts in cyber defense. Collaborations with a Swiss cyber security entity is also foreseen.


Your Profile

Qualification: The candidate should possess an MSc degree or equivalent in Computer Science.

Experience: The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and experience in a number of the following topics:

  • Software Security
  • Software Engineering
  • Data Analytics
  • Previous experience in the above areas from a European Union agency, is considered as an asset

and be familiar with the principles of

  • Cyber Incident Response
  • Cyber Security Threats
  • Cyber Defense
  • Development skills in Java or C++ are required.

Senior as well as junior profiles are welcome.

Language Skills: Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. Knowledge of French, German or Luxembourgish is desirable.
