The University of Luxembourg is looking for its Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine / Department of Mathematics, 2 doctoral candidates (PhD students) in mathematics (Algebra and Number Theory).

The PhD students will work under supervision of Prof. Antonella Perucca.


Your Role...
  • Contribute to research in the field of number theory
  • Write a thesis in the domain of number theory
  • Limited teaching activity (at most 3 hours/week)

What we expect from you…
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics
  • Dedication to doing research level mathematics
  • Willingness to integrate in a team
  • Solid knowledge in number theory (algebraic number theory, elliptic curves)
  • Good written and oral skills in English. Some knowledge of French and/or German is helpful, but not required
