Postdoctoral Positions in non-human primate Neuroethology and Neurophysiology (# of pos: 2)

Updated: over 2 years ago
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 31 May 2022

Luca Bonini’s lab (http://www.boninilab.unipr.it/ ) at the University of Parma offers two positions for postdoctoral researchers in the context of ongoing ERC funded projects to study the brain mechanisms underlying natural motor and emotional behaviors in macaque monkeys. Single neuron activity will be recorded with telemetric techniques while animals will move freely in a large plastic enclosure monitored by a system of multiple high-resolution cameras. The goal of this new project is to study single-cell and network mechanism underlying motor and emotional displays during primate interactions in close-to-natural conditions with simultaneous, telemetric monitoring of autonomic parameters.

The project is supported by the European Research Council (The interactive side of emotion: A neuroethological approach in freely-moving monkeys | EMACTIVE Project | Fact Sheet | H2020 | CORDIS | European Commission (europa.eu)), the Italian Ministry of Research, with funding for the next 5 years.

Applicants should send a CV and a statement of interest to Prof. Luca Bonini (e-mail: [email protected] ).
