YOUR TEAM

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group: chemists, materials scientists and physicists experts collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The Nanochemistry Research line is coordinated by Liberato Manna, who has extensive experience in Functional Inorganic Materials and Devices, Functional Nanostructured Materials, Surfaces, Interfaces, and related applications.

The research focuses on fundamental research in nanocrystals, ranging from the advanced synthesis, to the assembly and the study of chemical and structural transformations in nanomaterials. The applications are the focus of our research and span many disparate fields, including catalysis, energy storage, optoelectronics, and lighting. In collaboration with other groups at IIT, we develop applications in biomedicine, photodetection  and removal of heavy metals from contaminated fluids.   

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:

  • nanomaterials synthesis and processesing for applications in energy and photonics, with emphasis on colloidal nanocrystals

This open position/research is financed by MIUR within the Flag-Era JTC2019 "Solution-Processed Perovskite/ Graphene Nanocomposites for Self-Powered Gas Sensors (PeroGaS)" project.

 WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE

  • A PhD in chemistry or materials science

  • Documented experience on the nanomaterials synthesis and processes for applications in energy and photonics

  • A strong publication record

  • The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data

  • Documented experience in coaching junior scientists

  • Good command in spoken and written English
