7 Fully Funded PhD Scholarships in Economics and Finance

The University of Trento is now inviting applications from qualified candidates for 7 PhD Scholarships in the

PhD programme in Economics and Finance – jointly with the Free University of Bolzano/Bozen

The programme aims to train researchers with solid quantitative and theoretical skills capable of analysing economic and financial phenomena. The theses must be oriented to the maximum scientific rigor and present innovative characters that make them publishable in prestigious international journals subject to peer-review. The programme is designed to contribute to the international scientific debate on the issues of economics and finance. In this perspective, candidates will be encouraged to use methodologies that reflect the state of the art and to adopt a multidisciplinary approach. Particular emphasis will be given to research proposals on the following subjects:

• Economic development and institutions
• Monetary and fiscal policies
• Economic choices and energy transition
• Financial Markets
• Financial risk management
• Enterprises and international markets
• Investment tools and optimization
• Evaluation of public policies
• Big data
• ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and sustainable finance.

The programme is full time and will be taught in English by members of the university’s multi-national faculty. No tuition fees are charged and the scholarships are adequate to cover living expenses in Trento.
