2 Postdoc/PhD positions in control theory and/or power electronics at Tel Aviv University, Israel (# of pos: 2)

2 Postdoc, PhD or MSc positions in the broad areas of control theory and/or power electronics have become available at the School of Electrical Engineering, Tel Aviv University, in the research group of Prof. George Weiss.

The successful candidate will work, depending on the candidate background and interests, in one of the areas described below:

First area: Modelling and stability of power grids, estimating the parameters of the grid model by probing signals, the role of inertia, investigating the behaviour of grids with low inertia, the risks involved, algorithms for inverters that can enhance the robustness of the grid.

Second area: Modelling and analysis of time-varying infinite-dimensional systems. We are particularly interested in the modelling of switched systems, where a new system is obtained as the limit when the switching frequency converges to infinity, and the switching takes place between two or more) time-invariant systems. This work requires a strong mathematical background.
