Applications are invited for multiple Postdoctoral and Ph.D. student positions in the area of computer-aided design of high-frequency structures in the Department of Engineering, Reykjavik University, Iceland.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The positions will involve carrying out research in the area of design automation, with the emphasis on surrogate-based modeling and optimization, with the primary application area in high-frequency electronics (antennas, RF/microwave, photonics). The research includes development and implementation of numerical modeling procedures, optimization algorithms (single- and multi-objective design, uncertainty quantification, global optimization), performing numerical experiments involving electromagnetic/circuit simulators, as well as development of the relevant software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Postdoc positions (high-frequency design):
PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Design experience in the area of antenna and/or microwave engineering as well as experience with CST Microwave Studio are essential.
Working knowledge of other simulation/design environments (Sonnet em, Keysight ADS/Momentum, HFSS) is a plus.
Matlab programming skills, as well as working knowledge of numerical analysis and optimization techniques will be considered an asset.
Postdoc positions (modeling/optimization):
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related fields
Background and working knowledge of numerical modeling and optimization techniques as well as fluency in Matlab programming are essential.
Specialization in a particular field (e.g., uncertainty quantification, surrogate modeling, global optimization, machine learning) is a plus.
Working knowledge of high-frequency design will be considered an asset.
Ph.D. positions:
MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Fluency in Matlab programming is a must.
Background and experience in one of the following fields will be considered an asset: antenna/microwave design, numerical optimization methods, machine learning.
Applications should be submitted through the University's online applications website https://jobs.50skills.com/ru/is and should include the following documents:
Curriculum vitae
A list of publications.
A list of three references
Copies of relevant certificates and diplomas.
Any other relevant information the applicant wishes to supply.
Review of applications begins immediately and continues until the positions have been filled.
