Founded in 1962, the Department of Religion and Philosophy of Hong Kong Baptist University has been at the forefront of promoting the teaching and research of religion, philosophy and ethics in Hong Kong for many years. Our innovative curriculum offers a comprehensive exploration of both Chinese and Western religions. In addition, we incorporate philosophical and social science studies to deepen our understanding of various religious and philosophical traditions, as well as major ethical schools of thought. Collectively, our professors demonstrate a threefold expertise in religious studies, philosophy and ethics. Such expertise is also reflected in their great diversities of research interests and the broad range of courses offered by our colleagues. 

We are now inviting candidates with excellent research potentials from the related fields particularly in religious studies to apply for the postgraduate studies at our Department. Those with first class undergraduate degrees and/or (predicted) distinctions in their MA/MPhil degrees are highly encouraged to apply. 

The successful applicant will be awarded research studentship based on their academic merit. The current studentship carries a monthly stipend of HK$18,180 (post-candidacy HK$18,690 for PhD). For further information and to submit an application, please click Apply button.
