The Institute for Communications Engineering is currently offering seven positions for PhD or postdoctoral candidates for the project "6G-life" which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The position is funded for four years with a possible extension. The project will start on October 1, 2021.

Topics of the positions
• Integrated sensing and communication: fundamental limits and algorithm design (1 PhD, Mari Kobayashi, [email protected])
• Optical fiber channel modeling, receiver processing, and coding (1PhD, Gerhard Kramer, [email protected])
• Optimized transmission concepts for optical single-mode-fibers using the entire infrared wavelength-band (O-L-band) (1PhD, Norbert Hanik, [email protected])
• Post-quantum cryptography and coded computing (1 postdoc, 1 PhD, Antonia Wachter-Zeh, [email protected])
• Theory for communication systems beyond Shannon's approach (1 postdoc, 1 PhD, Christian Deppe, [email protected])
Your qualifications
▪ Master’s or doctoral degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, mathematics, physics (or similar)
▪ Interest in theoretical work with high practical relevance
▪ Software: experience working with MATLAB, C++, Python or similar
▪ Goal-oriented, independent and structured work style
