We are offering a Postdoctoral Position (m/f/d) in Targeted Drug Delivery

Job Description
Specific targeting and endosomal escape still remain crucial hurdles for the successful implementation of macromolecules as therapeutics. The know-how in endocytosis positions the group at the leading edge of understanding what drives these limitations and identifying novel ways to overcome these obstacles.
This project aims to translate novel targeting ideas identified into applications for oligonucleotide delivery. It concerns antibody production against identified targets and their attachment to oligonucleotides and nanoparticles. Their uptake and trafficking will be studied in cell lines and primary cells in vitro and in mouse models in vivo, using quantitative light microscopy and high throughput screening approaches. The project will be carried out in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry.

Your qualifications
The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in life sciences and documented prior experience in antibody or oligonucleotide modification or organic synthesis of biomolecules, ideally in antibody conjugation approaches. The candidate should be proficient in basic biochemistry and molecular biology methods as well as purification, quantification and detection techniques. The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of cell biologists, physicists, chemists and computer scientists in a competitive international environment. Excellent communication and data presentation skills (English is the working language at the MPI-CBG) are expected.

Our offer
The full-time position is available immediately for an initial period of 2 years with the possibility of extension. Salary and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TVöD Bund (salary agreement for public service employees).
