PhD studentship in Machine Learning for enzyme kinetics

Updated: almost 2 years ago
Deadline: 2022-07-19T00:00:00Z

The Computational Cell Biology group (Prof. Martin Lercher) at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany, invites applications for a PhD studentship in machine learning. Applicants should have strong quantitative skills and hold a degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or another subject relevant to the project.

The successful applicant will perform research in the context of the MechSys project, funded by a new ERC Advanced Grant. He or she will develop deep learning approaches to predict kinetic parameters of enzymes, and / or analyze energy landscapes of enzymatic reactions to identify evolutionary constraints and trade-offs under which the corresponding enzymes evolve.

The position will remain open until filled. Please send your documents (motivation letter, CV, transcripts of records, and the contact details of two referees) to [email protected]. Applications from female scientists are particularly welcome. Women with equal qualification and track record will be considered preferentially. Qualified disabled people are encouraged to apply.
