PhD Student Position (m/f/d)

The Leibniz Institute for Experimental Virology (HPI) is committed to research on the biology of different human viruses as well as the pathogenesis of viral diseases (http://www.hpi-hamburg.de/en ). We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious individual with team spirit, a high degree of curiosity and eagerness to learn and make fundamental scientific discoveries. The candidate should have a master’s degree in the life sciences or an equivalent qualification. Previous experience in virology, molecular and cell biology, or microscopy would be welcome.

The PhD project deals with Cytomegalovirus (CMV) genetics and pathogenesis in the mouse model. It also involves the use of CMV as a vaccine vector. Payment and social benefits will be in accordance with the regulations of the German TV-AVH (salary agreement for public service employees).
