The Leibniz-Institute of Photonic Technology (LIPHT) offers the following position in part time (65%) in the research department Photonic Data Science from 01th of January 2021 until 31th of December 2023:
PhD-Student (m/f/d)
The Leibniz-IPHT is a university independent research institute with close connection to the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and member of the Leibniz association.
Tasks:
- Investigation of data pretreatment and data standardization using inverse modeling
- Implementation and research of adapted machine learning methods for photonic data
- Research on model interpretation procedures and model transfer techniques / transfer learning
Required Qualifications:
Successfully completed university studies in natural sciences, mathematics or computer science (Bachelor/Master/Diplom)
Desired Skills and abilities:
- sound programming knowledge and skills in at least one of the following programming languages: JAVA, Python, R or Matlab
- Experience with photonic data like Raman, IR spectra or fluorescence image data
- Knowledge in the fields of data science, simulation and data standardization
- Knowledge in one or more of the following programming languages would be desirable: Labview, C++
- Good English language skills
- Interest in interdisciplinary cooperation and an extensive understanding of problem solving
Salary:
German tariffs for public employees (TV-L).
