Job description:PhD Student (f/m/d) Non-equilibrium dynamics of condensed matter in the time domain

With cutting-edge research in the fields of ENERGY, HEALTH and MATTER, around 1,500 employees from more than 70 nations at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) are committed to mastering the great challenges facing society today.

In the Institute of Theoretical Physics at HZDR, such non-equlibrium phenomena are investigated by predominantly analytical means. Key aspects include strong-field physics (in collaboration with the Institute of Radiation Physics), the fascinating properties of the promising material graphene (in collaboration with the Institute of Ion Beam Physics and Materials Research), as well as strongly correlated systems (link to the Dresden High Magnetic Field Laboratory).

The Institute of Theoretical Physics is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) Non-equilibrium dynamics of condensed matter in the time domain. 


Your tasks

# Analytical and numerical calculations: Cross-theoretical description of the relaxation of electron systems
# Presentation of scientific results in scientific publications and at conferences


Your profile

# Completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of Physics or related field
# Knowledge and experience in the field of theoretical physics
# Willingness to work academically in an interdisciplinary environment team
# Fluent in written and spoken English
# Basic German language knowledge
