The institute for communications engineering is currently offering a position for a doctoral candidate or postdoctoral candidate with the topic “Coding theory and coding methods for new communication models” (TV-L E13) (f/m/x) for the project “NEWCOM", which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). In this sub-project, the theory for communication systems beyond Shannon’s approach to solving basic communication tasks combined with security, protection of privacy and stealth properties is to be further developed. The project has already been running since 2019, ending on May 31, 2023, with the possibility of an extension. Shorter research stays are also possible, especially for postdocs.

Content of the project and areas of responsibility
- Post Shannon theory with active attackers
- Post Shannon theory with semantically secure messages
- Post Shannon theory for models with unknown channel
- Use of existing resources (correlation, common randomness) to increase the rate
- Implementation of identification codes
