Position Description
Prof. M. Czakon invites applications for a PhD-student position in theoretical particle physics (hep-ph) with a starting date in the fall of 2026. The PhD project concerns precision Standard Model predictions for the LHC, perturbative QCD, top-quark and Higgs-boson physics. The successful applicant will be hosted by the Institute for Theoretical Particle Physics and Cosmology, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany (https://www.particle-theory.rwth-aachen.de ).

The position is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The PhD student will be eligible for association with:

- Transregional Collaborative Research Centre P3H - Particle Physics Phenomenology after the Higgs Discovery (https://p3h.particle.kit.edu )
- cover letter stating your interests and motivation,
- curriculum vitae,
- degree certificates and study transcripts with a description of the grading scheme,
- short summary (maximum half a page) of your masters thesis (even if not yet completed),
- list of your publications (if any).
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online job interview shortly after the deadline. The job interview will include:
- a scientific presentation by the candidate on their master thesis (20 minutes),
- an interview to gain a better understanding of the candidate's knowledge and motivation.
