Your Job:
Your primary scientific tasks will be:
- Growth and characterization of SiGeSn heterostructures by CVD
- Cleanroom fabrication of integrated photonic devices, such as waveguide coupled light emitters (LEDs, lasers) and photodetectors (PDs, APDs, SPADs)
- Large gated FETs devices for material characterization
- Optical and electrical characterization of the obtained devices
You will also be actively involved in:
- Preparation of scientific publications and presentations
- Exchange with national and international scientific partners
- Training and mentoring of undergraduate students
Your Profile:
- Master`s degree in physics, engineering or similar, ideally with a background in the field of semiconductor physics
- Basic knowledge in optical spectroscopy techniques
- Basic information on deposition methods
- Clean-Room experience is an advantage
- Enthusiasm and courage to explore uncharted territory, develop, and follow new ideas
- Ability to work both independently as well as a part of a team
- Fluent in written and spoken English

The position is initially for a fixed term of 3 years. Pay in line with 50 % of pay group 13 of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund) and additionally 60 % of a monthly salary as special payment („Christmas bonus“).
