PhD Position in Organic Spintronics

Updated: 3 months ago
Location: Chemnitz, SACHSEN

Description of the offer :

The Collaborative Research Center TRR-386 “Hyperpolarization in Molecular Systems” (https://www.hypmol.net), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), is centered at the Leipzig University and the Chemnitz University of Technology with partners at RWTH Aachen University, University of Augsburg, Technical University of Munich, Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, University of Rostock. The TRR-386 will focus on the controlled realization of transient spin order of electrons or magnetic nuclei, i.e., of hyperpolarization, in molecular systems. This is expected to have a major impact in three research areas of chemistry and physics, namely magnetic resonance, spintronics and spin-chemistry which will be merged. To this end, the TRR-386 will contribute to the fundamental understanding of generation of electronic and nuclear spin hyperpolarization, its transport through molecular structures and its control. We expect implications towards applications for example in medicine, multifunctional electronics, and efficient chemical catalysis. In the project B5 we are searching for a candidate with background in transport or magnetotransport and interested in organic spintronics.
