Within the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1528 “Cognition of Interaction” funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and a new project funded by the European Research Council (ERC), the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Göttingen invites applications for four

PhD or postdoctoral researcher positions (all genders welcome)

These are full-time positions (currently 39,82 hours/week) up to salary level TV-L E14 initially for three years, with the possibility of extension. The positions should be filled as soon as possible.

The projects are at the interface of computer science and neuroscience/cognitive science. You will develop and apply modern methods from machine learning and computer vision to investigate fundamental cognitive functions as well as their underlying neural mechanisms.

Your profile
• Strong background in machine learning (especially deep learning), computer vision as well as cognitive science or neuroscience to solve very challenging scientific problems
• A PhD in one of the relevant fields would be a plus
• For postdoctoral researchers: ability to lead a small team of PhD students
• Strong analytical skills
• Very good command of the English language
