Doctoral Student Position at the Institute for Physical Chemistry, Heidelberg University, Germany

(m/f/d, E13 67% with all benefits, 3 years)

Your project: Developing and understanding printable and flexible sensors based on three-dimensional networks of purified single-walled carbon nanotubes and polymer semiconductors. The project will include material and device processing (e.g. photolithography, aerosol-jet printing, 3D-printing); (in-situ) optical, electrical and electrochemical measurements of dispersions, films and devices; testing sensor responsivity; modeling device properties and designing new sensor concepts based on electrochemical transistors.

Start date: from July 2022 (but not later than October 2022).

Requirements: You hold (or are just about to complete) a Master’s degree in physical chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology or physics. You have a very good academic track record including practical experience in the lab. Previous hands-on experience with spectroscopy, electrochemistry or nanomaterials is helpful. You are curious, self-motivated and you like to work at the boundaries of disciplines. You are able to think and work independently. Fluency in English (written and spoken) and excellent communication skills are essential.
