Open PhD position in Mass-Spec Imaging (MSI)

The Institute of Molecular Immunology at the Technical University of Munich in close cooperation with the M4I-Institute at Maastricht University in the Netherlands seeks to fill a PhD position in molecular imaging of tissues with mass spectrometry and spatialOmics. The two institutes have joined forces to unravel cell-specific signatures (lipid and metabolites) in tissues using a MALDI-2 based high resolution imaging approach (Tims-TOF-Flex).

We are searching for a PhD candidate with a strong interest in technology development and ideally prior experience in mass-spec analysis or high-content data analysis. The PhD-position is financed for a period of three years by TUM-internal funds. Payment will be based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service of the Länder (TV-L). We are offering innovative technologies in mass spectrometric analysis, single cell analysis and bioinformatic analysis including novel machine learning approaches in combination with a thriving research atmosphere in a highly interdisciplinary team at TUM and at M4i in Maastricht.
