Democratic Hope (www.democratic-hope.net ) is a junior research group investigating the multifaceted role of hope in democratic societies. Our aim is to develop a normative vocabulary that allows us to account both for the unavoidability of hope in democracy and for its pitfalls. To do so, the project connects the perspectives of political philosophy and democratic theory with insights for instance from epistemology, philosophy of mind or moral psychology. Democratic Hope is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation's "Freigeist" initiative.
