                    at the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics (CCCP)

The PhD researcher will be part of Ingo Rohlfing’s BMBF-funded research project CITATIONGAP. The project uses quantitative techniques to analyze the scope and potential causes of a citation gap in journal articles between female and male researchers in political science.

Your Tasks

  • work together with the Postdoc and principal investigator to crerate a dataset that will be used for the analysis of citations in political science
  • work together with the Postdoc and principal investigator to develop a conceptual and theoretical basis for all three work packages
  • design and implement a simulation modelling citation behavior in political science based on previous results produced in the project
  • participate in a transfer workshop where the results and their implications are presented
  • implement all stages of the project following current standards of research transparency
  • participate in the activities of the Cologne Center for Comparative Politics

Your Profile

  • Excellent Master degree in political science
  • Profound knowledge of quantitative research methods and research design
  • Excellent proficiency in English (B2/C1) or higher

The position is available from 01.03.2022 on a part-time basis (66,%). It is limited to four years. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
