Postdoctoral Researcher position in the ATLAS experiment at LPNHE Paris

Updated: over 2 years ago
Location: Paris 05, LE DE FRANCE
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 20 Dec 2021

The LEAP-physics project foresees to improve the analysis techniques for the study of the Lund jet plane using ATLAS data. The jet classification techniques will be improved, allowing also to reduce the uncertainties on the jet energy calibration. Multi-differential measurements involving the Lund jet plane will be performed and used to test QCD predictions. The detector projects at FCC-ee will be optimised for the reconstruction of charged tracks and neutral particles, in view of an optimal reconstruction of the Lund jet plane.

This Post-Doc offer involves working on the ATLAS Run II and III analyses related to jet substructure, jet classification and performing tests of QCD predictions. A collaboration with members of the FCC-ee community will allow to extend these jet studies. The recruited person will also supervise PhD and Master students.
This offer is made within the context of the LEAP-physics project, developed by a team of ATLAS experimentalists at LPNHE Paris, supported by ANR.

LPNHE is a mixed research unit with 160 employees, performing mainly experimental research in particle physics and Astroparticles.
