Offer Description

This thesis will be carried out in the joint LAMPS (Light for Advanced Materials and Processes) laboratory; a joint industry/CNRS/Université de Haute Alsace laboratory. This collaboration is with a world leader in specialty polymers. LAMPS is located at the Institut de Science des Matériaux de Mulhouse (IS2M) - a joint CNRS-Université de Haute-Alsace research unit (UMR 7361). Thanks to its multi-disciplinary approach, its scientific influence and its interactions with other fields, the laboratory is one of the key players in the field of materials and their applications in the academic and industrial world, at regional, national and international level. IS2M and LAMPS owe their reputation to the excellence of their research, the scientific reputation of their researchers and teacher-researchers, and the professionalism of their research support staff. The Institute's overall objective is to advance knowledge in the field of materials. LAMPS operates within IS2M, where numerous experimental techniques are accessible via its 11 ISO 9001-certified characterization platforms.

The aim of the study is to address the reactivity of photosensitive resins, with a view to improving practical reactivity to enable high speeds on UV benches in particular.
Activities :
- Development of new photoinitiator combinations
- Use of new photopolymerization modes
- Monitoring of the photopolymerization process
- Characterization of the final properties of the polymers formed.
Skills expected:
-Engineering degree or Master's degree in chemistry, with knowledge or previous experience in polymer science or materials science.
- Knowledge of photopolymerization would be a plus (but not compulsory).
- Very good command of English (B2 minimum/C1 preferred)
- Organizational and interpersonal skills: work in collaboration with industrial research teams.
