PhD: Magnetomechanical properties of skin-conformal magnetic field sensors

Updated: about 1 month ago
Location: Paris 15, LE DE FRANCE

Description of the offer :

The subject here proposes a study of the magnetic properties of multilayers [Ferromagnetic/Metal]x, deposited on polymeric foils or elastomer membranes. The PhD project will focus on the control of magnetic properties under mechanical stresses (by in situ magnetometry and imaging) to anticipate the performance of flexible or stretchable magnetic sensors. The PhD student will undertake several-month stays at each of the institutes, depending on the ongoing experimental campaigns: LSPM-CNRS (Paris-Villetaneuse): magnetomechanical characterization, in situ imaging, magnetomechanical modelling; HZDR (Dresden): fabrication and basic characterization of magnetoresistance, development of conditioning electronics, realization of demonstrators.
