Marseille-Luminy Immunology Centre (CIML) is a joint research unit of the CNRS, INSERM and Aix-Marseille University, internationally recognised in its field. The CIML is composed of approximately 200 people of all nationalities working in 16 research teams exploring the various fields of immunity. Located in the Luminy Science and Technology Park in Marseille (France), it has state-of-the-art technological platforms (flow cytometry, microscopy, genomics). The person recruited will join the "Immunology and biology of host/pathogen interactions" research team led by Jean-Pierre GORVEL at the CIML and will be supervised by Hugues LELOUARD in the research group dedicated to the study of the intestinal immune response and the role of Peyer's patches phagocytes in it. This group is currently composed of 2 PhD students, 2 researchers and a technician.

In the framework of the ANR Phagomic project, the PhD student will study the role of the different populations of Peyer's patch phagocytes in intestinal immunity. She/he will be particularly interested in the immune response occurring at the time of weaning and leading to the education and maturation of this immunity. Using different models of Peyer's patch phagocyte depletion, she/he will study the links between the profound changes in microbiota due to dietary change, the immune functions of Peyer's patch phagocytes and the development of intestinal adaptive immunity.
