The CeZaMe group at the Sorbonne University has an opening position in neurophysiology for a PhD student or a research engineer (with potential application for PhD position on following semesters in case of interest). The principal objective of the lab is to provide a comprehensive characterization of how the cerebellum participates to spatial cognition by studying neural circuitry of cerebellar-hippocampal (and/or adjacent structures) interactions. To this end we employ various techniques involving in-vivo electrophysiology, optogentics, neuroanatomical tracing, and behavioural analysis.

The position is for 3 years and is full time (100%).

The successful candidate will be involved in tasks as the below depending on the skills and interest:

In vivo electrophysiology in freely behaving mice (using tetrodes or neuropixels)
Handling/working with live rodents and harvested animal tissues
Constructing miniature tools for neurophysiology (electrophysiology/ optogentics)
Histology and microscopy
Offline mock analysis of electrophysiological data, including neuronal spikes, local field potentials, and animal behaviour using MATLAB, Python, or Excel.
