Deadline: 19 Apr 2022

The IM2NP Memories team from Aix-Marseille University conducts cutting-edge research in characterization, modeling, and design of Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) solutions.

Description: We offer a 8-month research Engineer position as part of the IPCEI-Nano2022 project on EEPROM memories. The aim of this study is to develop a new non-volatile charge storage memory cell architecture to reduce the memory point size. The project is supported by STMicroelectronics (Rousset, France). Study and modeling of the degradation phenomena caused by the modification of the cell architecture will be at the center of this work. Significant experimental electrical characterizations are expected, as well as a detailed analysis and in-depth understanding of the degradation mechanisms to optimize the memory device reliability through endurance and data retention tests. Finally, the new test structures could be proposed to allow the study in an environment closer to the final product.

Qualifications: The applicant should have a master’s degree or a Ph.D. in physics, microelectronics, or electrical sciences. Solid knowledge in the electrical characterization of microelectronics devices is necessary. Any experience in storage charge memory is a plus.

Application: A complete application should include a cover letter (max 1 page),a complete C.V., list of publications, copies of degree certificates, including documentation of completed academic courses and obtained grades. All documents should be in English (or French).

Language: English is mandatory, French is a plus but not mandatory.
