Job description summary

The research group of Dr. Eliane Piaggio (Inserm U932, Paris, France) is seeking a degree-qualified computational scientist. The bioinformatician will be dedicated to work on several projects in the frame of fundamental and translational immunology research, including neoantigen epitope prediction, CD8+ and CD4+ Tconv and Treg cell biology and anti-tumor responses. Tasks will include analysis of large datasets generated from single cell RNAseq, TCRseq, and ATACseq, whole exome sequencing and bulk expression studies. Candidate will join our Team-bioinformatician hub of around 5 people, and will benefit from Institut Curie bioinformatics platform. The initial contract will be for 18 months, renewable once.

Context

Projects will be developed under the supervision of Dr Eliane Piaggio leading the team “Translational Immunotherapy” (https://institut-curie.org/team/piaggio ).

The team encompasses: 3 postdocs, 2 PhD students, 2 M2 students, 1 technician, 4 engineers (including two bioinformaticians) and a project manager.

The group is part of a 130-person immunology department headed by Ana-Maria Lennon. The lab is located within the Institut Curie campus in the center of Paris. Institut Curie is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities (imaging, proteomic, animal facility, genomic and cytometry platforms). The Institute hosts around 1500 bench scientists including many foreign researchers.

Profile

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, mathematics, computer sciences, immunology, or related field. She/he should have demonstrated success in a previous research experience in immunology-applied bioinformatics and statistics testified by publications.

Knowledge in approaches for high-throughput data analysis, statistical modeling, and classification, as well as basic understanding of immunology are required. Previous experience with single cell RNASeq / TCRSeq will be a plus.

Strong motivation, autonomy and ability to quickly and effectively adapt to new projects will be essential.

Good proficiency in English is mandatory.
