The Faculty of Education and Psychology is currently offering 2-3positions of Doctoral researcher in the Doctoral programme in Education starting on 1 June 2022 (or as agreed) for a maximum period of four years considering previous work periods as a doctoral student/researcher and scholarship periods funded by JyU. Thus, the positions are open to those who have received their study right in the programme the Doctoral programme in education in autumn 2021 or earlier.

 Tasks and qualifications

Besides the dissertation work and your doctoral education, the position may also include other related duties, such as teaching assistance (max 5% of the working hours).

The duties, qualification requirements and language skills of doctoral researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines : Qualifications — University of Jyväskylä (jyu.fi)  . The selected person is expected to have a command of Finnish language. The University may grant exemption from the language proficiency requirements if needed. A good command of English is required.

A trial period of six months will be used when the position is first filled. After the trial period the doctoral researchers will be asked to report their progress to the board of the doctoral programme.

  • Form of dissertation (article based/monography)
  • The research strength area of the faculty
  • Supervisors (Supervisor-in-charge first)
  • Member of the follow-up group
  • Previous funding, including the funding period and source
  • Pending applications of research funding

2. Curriculum vitae (CV), including an ORCIDid (see here: https://orcid.org/ ), composed according to good scientific practice according to the guidelines for researcher´s curriculum vitae by The Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity. See: http://www.tenk.fi/en

3. List of publications (including poster and paper presentations at scientific conferences). The list of publications should be composed according to the guidelines of the Academy of Finland .

4. Research plan (max 5 pages + references) conforms to the research plan of study application phase, but special emphasis on the following:

  • progress of the doctoral studies, manuscripts in preparation, manuscripts which have been submitted or published, the phase of data collection and/or analysis.
  • work plan for the applied period (including mobility plan and plan of publishing, when relevant)
