PhD positions (salary equivalent to 65%TV-L 13)
in Biochemistry, Molecular Cell Biology, Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, and Tumorbiology

In the context of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center 1430 “Molecular Mechanisms of Cell State transitions”, various PhD positions are available. The aim of the CRC1430 is to answer fundamental questions about switch-like trigger mechanisms of cell state transitions, from cell cycle progression in cell division to plasticity of cancer cells to achieve an understanding of critical proliferation regulation that will also reveal novel therapeutic strategies for neoplastic diseases. The CRC ́s interdisciplinary approach links direct methodological approaches, including in particular sophisticated biochemical reconstitution, as well as single cell and real-time microscopy with new approaches of acute optical and chemical perturbation. The CRC 1430 involves scientists from the Departments of Biology and Medicine at the University of Duisburg-Essen as well as from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology in Dortmund, the Technical University of Dortmund, the University of Cologne, the University of Münster and the Goethe University Frankfurt.

Applicants should have a keen interest in fundamental aspects of cell biology and a proven background (typically indicated by a Master or Diploma degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Biology, Biochemistry or related fields)
